Girl, Let it Go

Ever hear a song that for a brief moment makes you happily reminisce about house parties or good times? He's Mine by Mokenstef is one of those feel good jams that I used to sing at the top of my lungs without really thinking about the lyrics. As much as I love the melody and harmony of their voices, I have to say that this song is wrong on so many levels. Why must we as women accept a two-timing loser? It is foolish to say "You may have had him once, but I got him all the time" ummm...News Flash: If he was with her for a night or God knows how long, he is NOT completely yours as you may like to believe. Also, going after the other woman is unnecessary (unless of course she is a relative or knew of your relationship) because your man knows where he belongs, therefore you need to put him in his place or swiftly kick him to the curb. Please love yourself enough to know that you don't have to accept any mans excuses for cheating. As I step off my soapbox, I want to recognize one excellent piece of advice in this song "Never fall in love with a man who don't love you".
